Portland Metro Area – While out shopping for backpacks and jeans, make sure to save enough time to stop by your local shelter for the greatest variety of cats and kittens in the Portland area. Currently area shelters are all at capacity with cats and kittens in need of a home.
 
Starting Monday, August 22, five metro area shelters will be lowering their prices on their hottest styles of the season. Stripes are stylish this fall and tabby cats have them in a wide variety of colors. Too Bold? Try basic black. It is always in style. No matter what your favorite look is, remember that everything (including cats)  is better in pairs.
 
Adoption fees are discounted by as much as 50% on cats and kittens. Area shelters carry sizes from XS to 3XL, and have thousands in stock. New shipments will be arriving weekly. Don’t delay!

Cat Adoption Team offers adult cats (over 1 year) for $25; and kittens (under a year old) are $50
Oregon Humane Society offers adult cats (over 1 year) for $35-$85, buy one get one free; and kittens (under a year old) for $85 – $100 if you adopt two, the second kitten is $50
Humane Society of Southwest Washington offers adult cats (over 1 year) for $15; and kittens (under a year old) are $50
Multnomah County Animal Shelter offers adult cats (over 1 year) for $12; cats 6 months to 12 months for $50; and kittens are $100 if you adopt two, the second kitten is $50
Washington County Animal Shelter offers adult cats (over 1 year) for $10; and kittens (under a year old) are $80 if you adopt two, the second one is $40
