What is Spay & Save

The very first Spay & Save patient, Soma, a 1-year old female was spayed on February 16, 2010.

Spay & Save is a Portland metro area-wide program that aims to assist low income families and their cats by offering affordable spay & neuter surgeries for those who qualify. The program is organized and managed by the Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland, (ASAP).  The Spay & Save program aims to keep struggling families and their pets together and reduce the number of cats and kittens that are coming into our shelters every year—23,574 in 2010 alone.

All surgeries are performed by licensed veterinarians and assisted by skilled, caring support teams. The low cost service is made possible by charitable donations. See our MAP of spay neuter centers below and meet some of the caring doctors involved.
